de Santi's São Paulo Residence

A São Paulo home conceived as a living archive, where furniture becomes the architecture.

The design of this São Paulo home follows an almost curatorial rhythm, one that begins with structure and flow rather than decoration.

A seamless shell of stucco, extending across floors, walls, and ceilings, establishes a sense of calm continuity. From this neutrality, a central spine of pau-ferro wood defines circulation with the quiet authority of a gallery wall.

Furniture becomes the architecture. Tenreiro chairs, Zalszupin stools, and a Rodrigues rocking chair anchor each room, their forms dictating proportion and spatial tension. The apartment was conceived not as a stage for objects, but as a living archive, every piece in dialogue with the volume that surrounds it.

The palette is restrained to the point of austerity, designed to heighten the material richness of Brazilian modernism: polished jacarandá, woven cane, hand-finished textiles. Light and volume carry the emotional weight, shifting gently across surfaces as the day unfolds.

What emerges is a home that transcends function, existing in the space between residence and gallery. It is less about accumulation than refinement, less about ornament than essence, a setting where Brazilian design is not simply displayed, but given the clarity and stillness it deserves.
